Bulgin, an Elektron Technology brand, has announced that some of its connectors and antennae have been rigorously tested and certified to meet random vibration, shock and bump standards. The 7000 series, 6000 series, 400 series, Standard Power Buccaneer connectors and Buccaneer SMB antennae, including 90° variants, meet the following ETSI and BS EN standards:

  • Random vibration: ETSI EN 300 019-2-5 v3.0.0 (2002-12), BS EN 60068-2-64:2008 Test Fh;
  • Shock: ETSI EN 300 019-2-5 v3.0.0 (2002-12), BS EN 60068-2-27:2009 Test Ea;
  • Bump: ETSI EN 300 019-2-5 v3.0.0 (2002-12), BS EN 60068-2-27:2009 Test Ea.

Environmentally-sealed Buccaneer connectors are designed to offer rapid and secure mains power and data connectivity in harsh environments and are perfect for challenging applications where exposure to shock, bump and vibration can be an issue, such as industrial machinery and on-board vehicle equipment for the automotive industry. Buccaneer SMB antennae are suited for RF equipment, ensuring exceptional performance and maximum system gain.

This latest certification sets the Buccaneer range apart from other commercially available products, complementing existing IP ratings so that customers can be confident that their chosen connector or antenna will meet the physical demands of applications subject to movement.
