Connector system to feature at Solar & Storage Live
Highlighted by Stäubli Electrical Connectors at the Solar & Storage Live exhibition in Birmingham this September will be its MC4 solar power connector system. Enabling the bankability required for today's PV projects, these original, connectors have been installed in over 200GW of PV systems worldwide.
Part of the MC4 connector range on show will be the MC4-EVO 2, which minimises power losses thanks to its exceptionally high current carrying capacity of up to 69A. A high voltage rating of up to 1,500V dc means that longer series strings can be used in PV arrays on large-scale solar projects.
Suitable for cable cross-sections between 4mm2 and 10mm2 (12 to 8 AWG), the connector has a polyamide casing with improved impact resistance and enhanced sealing. Ammonia and salt spray resistance also enables operation in harsh environments.
Also featuring on the Stäubli stand will be the MC4-EVO AC, a three-pole AC connector for use with micro or nano PV inverters. Designed for module and string level applications, its low profile allows it to fit within the panel framework, enabling modules to be stacked without the use of spacers.
With a current carrying capacity of up to 32A, it has a rated voltage of 600 V AC (UL) and 400V AC (IEC). Accepted cable cross-sections range from 1.5mm2 to 4mm2.
The company also offers a suite of high performance accessories including junction boxes, cabling and tools.
Solar & Storage Live 2019 takes place at the NEC, Birmingham from 17th to 19th September 2019, and Stäubli can be found on Stand E11.
