Cliff Electronics Expands Audio Connector Range
CLIFF Electronics is expanding their range of audio jack sockets and plugs. In addition to well-established ¼ inch ranges new families of 3.5mm plugs and sockets for professional audio, industrial, consumer and mobile phone applications are now available.
ClifAll of Cliff’s ¼ inch jack socket ranges include a large choice of nose options including metal. Users have a choice of fixing nut and washer options, higher temperature body material, all combinations of contact patterns, Ni-Ag® alloy self-cleaning contacts for superior performance and reliability. Customers are able to specify types switched and non-switched contacts, as well as options for chassis grounding and EMI/RF screening .
Cliff’s flagship S2 and S4 ¼ inch audio jack sockets are used worldwide for premium audio, guitar amplifiers and foot-pedals. All standard jack socket options are available with customers also being able to specify internal or externally threaded noses in all variations of thread, nuts, washers and mounting accessories.
Cliff Electronics patented range of “Stack Jack” sockets allow two sockets to occupy the same PCB space as a single conventional socket. This offers increased printed circuit board density with greater reliability than vertical jacks for mono and stereo applications. Options include selection of stacking spacer thickness to accommodate flexible fixing choices.
For very compact product design the Cliff range of ¼ inch Mini Jack sockets are a narrow bodied version, which offer maximum PCB board density with all the options listed above.
Cliff’s most rapidly expanding range of products are its 3.5mm and 2.5mm sockets suitable for consumer, professional, robust and mobile applications. The S6 and S9 series of 3.5mm professional audio sockets are Cliff’s flagship mono and stereo sockets and are renowned for their advanced tip contact technology which ensures the most reliable performance with the many and varied 3.5mm plugs encountered in today’s marketplace. The S6 and S9 families are available in both PCB and chassis mount versions.
Used primarily in mobile phone and portable applications Cliff’s 4 Pole 3.5mm audio sockets are available with a complete range of contact versions including switched and un-switched and with a choice of physical mounting arrangements including PCB and SMD versions.
For consumer products a range of mono and stereo 2.5mm and 3.5mm sockets are available with choices of contact styles, including switched and un-switched. End users can specify various styles of mounting and physical arrangements including PCB and SMD versions.
To complement their extensive range of jack sockets Cliff also offer a range of mono and stereo ¼ inch Jack Plugs with either metal or ABS covers. Many versions are available including screened, coloured covers, cable clamps and protective cable shrouds. Cliff jack plugs are manufactured from solid nickel plated brass, with high temperature phenolic or PBT spacers.
Cliff also manufactures a complete range of mono and stereo 2.5mm and 3.5mm plugs with either metal or plastic covers and optional screening.
