Cable and wire harness assembly capabilities expanded
Recently expanding its harness capabilities to meet custom designs from new and existing OEM customers, Selco Products aims to support customers from engineering design to rapid prototypes to producing large volumes on a weekly basis. Selco offers a range of capabilities and utilises equipment to accommodate cable and wire harness custom designs to meet customer requirements.
With a range of other temperature control sensor products such as thermistors, thermostats and thermal fuses, Selco has the ability to integrate these components into a cable and wire harness assembly.
There are applications that do require environmental protection and the ability to encapsulate these sensors is available upon request. Some of the major industries/applications that Selco’s cable and wire harnesses assemblies are used in include: white goods, commercial appliances, food equipment, industrial equipment, heating equipment and transportation.
Selco’s manufacturing processes are to build, heat shrink, test and label in a linear efficient process. The Engineering team also utilises Solidworks design tool to assist customers with new custom designs.
The equipment that is utilised for these assemblies includes a wire and cable processing machine to cut, strip, crimp and terminate wire assemblies from single to multi-conductor wire.
This ranges from standard to high temperature rated wire assemblies. In addition, there are process tools for ultrasonic welding, laser stripping, auto splicing, hand tools and an inventory of applicators to meet the customer application. Selco also has the abilities to solder, perform continuity testing, ink jet printing and labelling on parts.
Director of Operations at Selco Products, Robert Francis said: “We are committed to work with our customers from the engineering prototype phase to volume production with the goal of producing high quality harnesses at competitive prices.”
Francis added: “We provide a quick turnaround lead time for our customers on both cable and wire harnesses assemblies.”
