Belden Unveils New Benchmark-Setting Microphone Cables
Belden has extended its award-winning line of broadcast products in the EMEA region with the launch of two Brilliance microphone cables that are setting new benchmarks in strength and digital audio performance. Brilliance 1776 - Belden’s strongest microphone cable to date - and compact digital microphone cable Brilliance 2221 – the finest performing digital cable available - offer maximum toughness and flexibility for analog and digital applications.
BrilThe cable is engineered with high strength custom alloy conductors and a tough EPDM rubber jacket, making it ideal for rental houses and other applications where microphone cables face repeat use and damage. Brilliance 1776 is available as cost saving put-ups of 75 meters (250 feet).
Belden’s second cable introduction is an ideal solution for applications where full-size microphone cables are too large. The Brilliance 2221 Compact Digital Microphone Cable is small enough for hand-held solid-state recording devices with miniature microphone connectors, such as those from Lemo, Neutrik or Switchcraft, or those using Bantam or TT jacks as the balanced line input.
With an impedance of 110 ohms, the cable is able to carry digital audio. Its ultra-low capacitance of 42.7 pF/m makes it the finest performing digital cable available on the market.
Brilliance 2221 is suitable for use as an analog or digital patch cable where Bantam or TT patch connectors are used. It can also be used as a DMX lighting control cable when small size and flexibility are required.
Werner Eich, vertical marketing manager broadcast for Belden EMEA comments: “Brilliance 1776 and 2221 microphone cables are setting new performance levels in their respective fields, and in doing so reflect Belden’s focus on delivering broadcast products with the high quality and reliability to meet the signaling transmission needs of musicians, performers and the AV industry as a whole.”
