Field-Attachable External Thread mPm DIN Form B, C And Micro Valve Connectors

“Molex is the only connector manufacturer to offer a complete family of external thread DIN valve connectors,” says Gilberto Rizzo, integrated products division, AEP business unit, Molex. “The additional built-in circuit protection and LED indicators meet a wide range of customer design requirements; standard circuitry options available include LED and bi-polar LED indicators, blocking diodes and VDRs.”

The Brad mPm range of DIN valve connectors from Molex conform to Industry Standard EN 175301-803 (formerly DIN 43650). This is the standard for a series of electrical connectors that is commonly used with solenoid valves, especially those used on valves in hydraulics and pneumatics systems.

The ergonomic external-nut design on the mPm DIN valve connector provides greater and consistent torque for a more uniform seal between connector and cable, and 20% greater cable-retention force over internal-nut designs for increased reliability. When mated, the Molex mPm DIN connectors achieve a sealing performance from dust and water to IP67, opening up a greater range of application opportunities in more rugged environments.

“The Brad mPm DIN valve connector range is recognised throughout the industry globally and the name has become synonymous with high performance and reliability,” adds Rizzo. “In comparison to similar products on the market, the internal volume of the DIN Form C housing is increased by 30 percent with no change to the external dimensions of the connector; this improves overall handling, wire routing and speed of assembly over internal nut versions and, with no impact on space required by the customer’s application, can be used as a drop in replacement.”

Brad mPm DIN connectors from Molex are supplied “ready-to-use” disassembled in single sets, or as bulk components, which saves customers disassembly time per part and costs. They can accommodate PG9 and PG11 cable and up to 9mm cable outer diameter and, since one size fits all, the customer can reduce its connector inventory. To further reduce labour, pre-terminated and overmoulded mPm DIN valve connectors are also available in standard lengths.
