Belden’s Lumberg Automation Brand Moulded M12 Right-Angle Connectors With 360° Shielding
Belden has extended its Lumberg Automation product program in the EMEA region to include new molded M12 male and female right-angle connectors with 360° shielding. These permit the reliable transmission of analog and digital data, even in environments with strong electromagnetic fields. The connectors are available as either single-ended or double-ended cordsets for actuators/sensors, Profibus and Ethernet cables, and connection cables. The angular design of the connectors facilitates quick installations, even where space is at a premium.
FurtThe male and female connectors, shielded via a knurled screw or nut, are available in several different versions. Actuator/sensor connection cables can be obtained with four, five or eight poles. Depending on the version, the rated voltage is 30, 60 or 240 V AC/DC and the rated current is 4 or 8 A. Insulation resistance is >109 Ω for all versions. The connectors for Profibus and Ethernet cordsets and connection cables are B or D coded, and have a rated current of 4 A and a rated voltage of 60 or 240 V AC/DC.
The molded body and housing are made of thermoplastic polyurethane. The insert is either of the same material (Profibus cordsets) or polybutylene terephthalate. The contacts are bronze or brass, depending on the cable type. Also made of brass, the receptacle shell and knurled screw/nut are additionally nickel-plated, while the shield sleeve is tin-plated. The molded cables, made of PUR or PVC, are available in lengths of 2, 5, 10 and 15 meters. Other lengths are available on request.
With the new molded M12 male and female right-angle connectors, Belden now offers a connectivity solution that has been specially designed for installations with restricted space or complex cable routing. Right-angle connectors are often easier to use in such situations, says Product Manager Joachim Kiera, adding: Thanks to their patented shielding concept and robust mechanical design, our products also ensure reliable data transmission even in extreme environmental conditions.
