Lapp Ltd has announced publication of its 2007 main product catalogue, a 1000-plus page cable reference book that will find wide interest among users of all types of cables and cable accessories. The new catalogue, which has the theme “Connecting the World”, provides comprehensive details about every Lapp product including full technical data, applications information and ordering criteria.

PEI-Genesis has added ITT’s VEAM CIR series of multipin circular connectors to its product range and will be offering them with the company’s 48-hour assembly service from May 2007. Designed specifically for the hostile environment of rail-industry applications, the VEAM CIR series can be configured to function as electrical, optical or pneumatic connectors and therefore simplify the design process as well as reducing product inventories.

HARTING has introduced a new industrial connector which integrates the company's HARAX rapid termination technology into a 7/8in interface connector. The 7/8in connector interface is used in many newly developed fieldbus modules. It is widely used in the United States, and is becoming increasingly popular in the European market.

Hypertac has announced a new shielded version of its modular HyperMod connector to meet the emerging needs for high-speed signal interconnections in railway applications, such as the communication networks made available to passengers within coaches. Its shielding effectiveness meets the exacting EMC requirements of railway environments.

Hypertac’s new HDL Series of low insertion force (ZIF) connectors combine high reliability and ease of assembly with industry-leading mating cycle performance. Tekdata Interconnections Ltd announces its new 'nanominiature' cable assemblies incorporating the latest advances in nanotechnology and environmental tolerance. Weight savings of up to 90% can be delivered in comparison to traditional assemblies as a result of these advances. These complex assemblies house 51 pins inside connectors whose width are 16.5 mm, whereas equivalent military specification cables can normally be as wide as 40 mm.
