Electronics packaging specialist Schroff has launched a new edition of its main catalogue. Running to over 1100 pages, Edition 23 provides detailed technical information on the company’s complete range of products, including cabinets, cases, subracks, plug-in units, embedded systems, backplanes and power supplies.

ROLEC have added ten new smaller sizes to their existing range of ‘aluCASE’ die-cast aluminium enclosures. These modern and easy to use IP 67 enclosures have many intelligent features to make installation of the electronics or electrical equipment very easy.

Bergquist has extended its family of S-class low-modulus gap pad materials optimised for high thermal performance by introducing Gap Pad 1500S30, which achieves thermal conductivity 1.3W/m-K and bulk-hardness rating 30 (Shore 00). The new formulation increases choice for designers seeking efficient heat removal from fragile components in cost-sensitive applications.

MH&W International has introduced Keratherm KL 90 highly thermally conductive, double-sided adhesive tape which provides 1.4 W/mK of thermal conductivity – said to be three times higher than other thermal tapes – for more effective heat transfer from hot components to heat sinks. The new tape’s thermal impedance is just 208°C-mm2/W (0.32°K-in2/W).

Aavid Thermalloy has signed a distribution agreement with Advanced Thermal Solutions, Inc., a leader in innovative component cooling solutions. Aavid Thermalloy, with its global customer base and broad network of sales offices, representatives and distributors, will now have access to ATS’ high performance heat sink and attachment technologies to address the cooling of today’s and tomorrow’s electronic devices.

Aware that thermal management is an important part of environmental care, and that anything which doesn’t require the use of electricity in order to maintain acceptable temperatures, is likely to be welcomed by design engineers, Ohmite has launched the first of a range of heatsinks which not only meet these requirements, but also save time and money.

Rittal has announced that they have attained accreditation with SAFEcontractor and are now an approved contractor for the Installation and Baying of Server Racks with Cooling Cabinets (Water Cooled). SAFE Contractor is an accreditation scheme that recognizes very high standards of health and safety practice.

New from electronics packaging specialist Schroff is a compact MicroTCA system that can accommodate up to six single mid-size AdvancedMC modules in a 19in enclosure with a height of only 1U. Featuring a special case design that ensures efficient cooling of the modules, the 1U MicroTCA system is ideal for use in high-performance multi-processor systems where rack space may be limited – for example, in industrial or transportation applications.

A new concept in VME64x and CompactPCI rack-mounted system design is now available from Rittal in the form of a set of horizontally cooled housings. Assembled from a selection of backplane(s), power supplies, rear I/O, HDD and monitoring via a pick-and-mix process, the housings are able to accommodate two system slots per U of height (44.45mm).
