The 'world's smallest' 3.5" embedded board
Axiomtek officially introduces its CAPA880, a 3.5" embedded board designed to support LGA1150 socket for 4th gen Intel Core i7/i5/i3 and Celeron processors (35W) with the Intel H81 chipset. The CAPA880 supports up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM, and offers SATA 3 interface, as well as an mSATA slot available on PCI Express Mini Card slot.
The compact-size embedded board employs Intel integrated Gfx graphic engine and provides three display interfaces: HDMI, LVDS (18/24-bit single/dual channels) and VGA. It runs on +12V DC input and offers -20°C to 55°C support. The 146x102mm embedded SBC is suitable for IoT/M2M-related, industrial control, digital signage and more.
“The highly integrated embedded board CAPA880 leverages the high-speed processing and graphics performance of Intel’s 4th gen Core Haswell processors, along with their low power consumption. Expansion is available via a PCI Express Mini Card and a unique ZIO connector that integrates PCIe x1, USB 3.0, LPC and SMBus expansion buses, giving this SBC high expandability options to meet customer specific needs," said Michelle Mi, product manager of Product Planning Division, Axiomtek. Additionally, the Intel Core-based socket-type 3.5” embedded board comes with three I/O boards, the AX93262, AX93285 and AX93291, which provide system integrators with a less cabling solution in a cost-effective way.
The high performance CAPA880 supports advanced connectivity such as one RS-232/422/485 port with +5V/+12V powered, one SATA-600 interface, dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, four USB 2.0 ports, two USB 3.0 ports, HD audio, 8-CH DIO, and one full-size PCI Express Mini Card with mSATA, as well as an exclusive ZIO connector for I/O modules. To ensure reliable operation, the 3.5" embedded SBC supports watchdog timer and hardware monitoring features.
