Serverboards offer 35% power savings for IoT devices
Addressing the growing demand for connected IoT devices, the ASMB-923I and ASMB-823I serverboards have been released by Advantech. The serverboards, offering improvements in energy efficiency, CPU performance, security and remote manageability, are suitable for powering industrial servers.
Servers featuring the Advantech serverboards are designed for applications including video broadcasting, transcoding, medical imaging, automatic test equipment, AOI, video conference, cloud gaming and NVR/DVR surveillance. The serverboards, which are powered by Intel Xeon E5-2600 v3 processors and C610 series chipsets, feature DDR4 2133 frequency support.
Compared to DDR3L, the ASMB-923I and ASMB-823I offer high-efficiency performance, with up to 35% power savings (up to 50% at 3 DPC configurations) and 50% improved bandwidth. For each processor core physically present, the multi-core Hyper-Threading function delivers simultaneous multithreading technology. Where possible, workload is shared between the operating system's two virtual processors. 10G Ethernet and high performance graphic cards can be implemented as the serverboards support PCIe 3.0, which doubles the delivered bandwidth of PCIe 2.0.
To enable cool operation, lower fan power consumption and quieter system acoustics, the ASMB-923I features parallel rackmount chassis placement. The ASMB-923I also supports HPC-7180, HPC-7280, HPC-7480, HPC-7442 and ACP-4010MB. While the ASMB-923I is available now, the ASMB-823I will be available in November 2014.
