Rutronik Elektronische Bauelemente GmbH has unveiled its latest innovation: the Rutronik System Solutions Adapter Board RAB5.

This development board has been specifically engineered for LED applications in the automotive industry and Industry 4.0 environments. At the core of the RAB5 is the OSIRE LED series from ams Osram, a trusted name in high-performance LED technology.

The market for LEDs spans a wide range of applications, including vehicle interior lighting and various industrial uses. In automotive settings, LEDs enhance both the aesthetics and functionality of a vehicle’s interior. In the industrial sector, LEDs are essential for applications such as smart factories, automated production lines, and intelligent lighting systems that adapt to real-time conditions. High-performance LEDs are vital for building efficient, adaptive, and sustainable manufacturing environments.

The RAB5 Adapter Board integrates OSIRE LEDs from ams Osram, known for their ability to deliver dynamic ambient lighting solutions. These LEDs feature individually addressable chips, offering maximum flexibility in colour and driver selection. Users can easily customise and control each LED through ams Osram’s intuitive graphical user interface (GUI). The intelligent LEDs come equipped with built-in algorithms and a temperature sensor, ensuring that performance remains consistent regardless of temperature fluctuations. With scalability in mind, up to 1,000 LEDs can be connected to a single bus, making the RAB5 ideal for a variety of large-scale applications.

The RAB5 Adapter Board features an Arduino-compatible interface, allowing it to easily integrate with other Rutronik System Solutions base boards and adapter boards. This modular concept makes it easier and more cost-effective to develop and prototype technically sophisticated projects.

One standout combination is pairing the RAB5 Adapter Board with Rutronik’s Base Board RDK4 for motor control applications. The PSoCTM 4100S Max automotive microcontroller from Infineon, embedded in the RDK4, features a cost-efficient Arm Cortex-M0+ core, enabling advanced control and seamless integration. Together, these boards create a comprehensive platform for developing and testing automotive applications.
