The launch of 2 Mini-ITX motherboards, the KB160 and KB161, has been announced by DFI. The two models adopt the AMD Embedded G-Series SoC platform, providing an exceptionally high-definition visual experience and delivering up to 70% overall improvement over AMD G-Series APU.

The AMD G-Series SoC is designed to be optimized for visual performance and power efficiencies. The AMD HD 8000 Series onboard graphics enhance multimedia capabilities and support up to 3 display outputs, including 1 VGA, LVDS, and DP. The KB160 and KB161 provide 2 DDR3L SODIMM sockets supporting up to 8GB. The two Mini-ITX industrial motherboards are also packed with improved I/O, including 2 LAN ports, 4 COM ports, 6 USB ports, 2 SATA ports, 1 LPC connector for additional COM/Parallel ports, and 8-bit Digital I/O connector for device controls. The expansion design of these motherboards offer additional capabilities, including 1 PCIe x4, 1 Mini PCIe, 1 DFI Proprietary Extension Bus for PCIe/PCI expansion and 1 DFI EXC interface for I/O expansion to fit more requirements. The 2 boards differ in that KB160 provides 1 24-pin ATX power connector while the KB161 provides 1 12V DC-in (default) or 1 4-pin ATX (optional) in order to provide additional options to customers.

DFI is focused on developing a complete AMD Embedded G-Series SoC-based product line to meet different requirements, such as Mini-ITX, COM Express and 3.5” SBC. With the design of high performance at low power, these embedded boards are the best solution for any kind of industrial applications.

KB160 and KB161, Mini-ITX industrial motherboards with expansive features, are the ideal choices for a whole range of applications such as gaming machine, medical equipment, industrial control automation, security & surveillance, smart grid, ATM, and POS.
