Advantech has introduced the latest addition to its industrial motherboard lineup — the AIMB-523.

This high-functionality Micro-ATX motherboard is ideal for 3D vision guided inspection and is powered by AMD Ryzen Embedded 7000 series processors with “Zen 4” architecture and 5nm technology. With 12 cores and support for up to 128GB of DDR5 memory, it delivers up to 49% more performance within the same power budget compared to the AMD Ryzen 5000 series.

Targeted toward demanding 3D/4D visual capturing applications, the AIMB-523 features 6 x 2.5GbE LAN ports and 8 x USB 3.2 ports for high-speed, high-resolution image capturing devices, ensuring exceptional data transmission with minimal latency. It also includes a steel-reinforced PCIe x16 Gen5 slot for dual-slot GPU cards, plus an internal USB Type-A port for a USB security dongle. These features make it an ideal solution for real-time visual inspection applications in industrial automation that require full functionality, precise graphics inference, and high-security data processing capability.

Enhanced connectivity and performance for visual inspection applications

The AIMB-523 features 6 x 2.5GbE LAN ports and 8 x USB 3.2 ports, allowing for the direct connection of high-speed devices such as high-resolution digital cameras for processing large images in automated visual inspection. This eliminates the need for additional add-on cards, enabling users to connect digital devices directly to the motherboard for their application needs.

While the AIMB-523 already offers fast transmission, the PCIe x16 slot enables the utilisation of GPU-accelerator cards, further enhancing visual computing efficiency and analytic capabilities. This sturdy connector helps prevent damage from unplugging heavy graphics cards. This design makes the AIMB-523 ideal for scenarios demanding flexible functionality and superior AI computing capabilities, particularly in automated visual inspection.

Harnessing AMD's 1st desktop processors with 5nm technology to drive data-intensive applications

The AIMB-523 harnesses the power of AMD Ryzen Embedded 7000 Series processors, offering up to 12 cores for outstanding computing performance even under heavy data workloads. With 4 DIMMs supporting up to 128GB of DDR5 memory and optional ECC support, it delivers exceptional responsiveness for data-intensive applications managing simultaneous high-speed workflows. Despite its multi-tasking prowess, this motherboard is also equipped with an onboard M.2 M-Key with PCIe x4 links, compatible with high-speed NVMe SSDs for massive data storage. Furthermore, it features an internal USB Type-A connector for dongle license keys. To sum up, the AIMB-523 delivers powerful computation, timely accessibility, and security to maximise the outcome of data-intensive applications.

Embedded operating system empowers adaptability for industrial applications

This motherboard supports various OS, including Windows10/11 and Windows Server for operation in industrial markets. By offering real-time hardware and peripheral monitoring, we help users in preventing system failures, ultimately improving productivity. The AIMB-523 delivers stable operation and convenience for IoT devices. Advantech’s Micro-ATX motherboards provide OS compatibility that enables innovation and reliability in industrial settings.
