Fully armed: Android development board boasts Cortex-A9 core
Farnell element14 is today exclusively launching an open source, single board platform designed to run Android operating systems. The Revolutionising the Internet of Things (RIoT) board features a high processing performance/low-power consumption processor with a broad range of peripherals and display capabilities.
Computer on module based on new Intel Atom processor
MSC Technologies’s MSC Q7-BT Qseven module family is based on the new Intel Atom processor E3800 product technology (formerly codenamed “Bay Trail”). The computer-on-modules close the gap between the high-end COM Express boards with Intel Core processors and the existing Intel Atom based Qseven modules at the entry level.
Motherboards deliver up to 15% CPU performance increase
3 Mini-ITX embedded motherboards, powered by the 4th generation Intel CoreTM processor family, have been announced by DFI. Designated the HM100-Q87, HM101-QM87, and HM103-QM87, the 3 models are built on 22-nanometer process technology offering higher processing performance, superior graphics display support, and evolutionary improvements in system memory and I/O interfaces.
MEMS evaluation board connects to Raspberry Pi
Farnell element14’s MEMS Sensor Evaluation Board is for developing projects and designs on multiple platforms. The sensor board contains multiple Freescale Xtrinsic sensors including the MPL3115 high-precision pressure sensor, the MAG3110 low-power 3D magnetometer, as well as the MMA8491Q 3-Axis, digital accelerometer making it ideal for applications such as navigation devices, remote controls, wireless controllers, tablet computers o...
Arrow, NXP collaborate on NFC reference design board
Arrow Electronics European engineering team has joined forces with NXP Semiconductors to develop SmarTool NFC, a reference design board created to help customers develop hardware and software that uses NFC (Near Field Communication) technology for applications such as access control, payment systems and contactless data exchange. The board is now available to customers in the EMEA region.
100Ω backplane connector enables 25Gbps data rates
Combining speed and density in a modular package, the Impact 100Ω backplane connector is designed for high speed applications. Molex's scalable Impact connector technology enables data rates of up to 25Gbps, with signal density of up to 80 differential pairs per linear inch when using a 6-pair configuration.
Embedded display targets HMI applications
Farnell element14 has launched the EDM6070AR-01 fully-integrated Embedded Display Module(EDM) that integrates an ARM-based single board computer(SBC) with a 7” LCD and touch-screen assembly. The multi-function embedded EDM is based on the ARM9 AT91SAM9X35 industrial processor from Atmel.
Projected Capacitive Touch panels added to MPU starter kit
For evaluation and test of the MSC NANORISC-AM335x family of processor modules with Texas Instruments AM335x ARM processor, MSC is now offering the ready-to-use MSC NANORISC-SK-MB2 starter kit. The kit consists of the versatile MSC nanoRISC-MB2 baseboard with power supply, a 7in. WVGA TFT display and a 7” PCT touch panel.
USB data acquisition board aims at OEM and embedded applications
Adept Scientific has announced the release by Measurement Computing of a new ultra high speed, USB data acquisition board for simultaneous sampling up to 20 MS/s per channel. The USB-2020 features two analogue input channels with multiple input ranges up to ±10V and can sample data from both channels at an overall rate of 40 MS/s to the on-board memory, or continuously stream to a host computer at up to 8 MS/s.
LCD expansion capes cover Beaglebone boards
Farnell element14 has launched its first range of LCD expansion capes, named BB View, that are designed for use with the Beaglebone family of development boards. The BB View range of LCD expansion capes are available in two sizes; 4.3in. and 7in. displays, with a resistive touch-screen and provide full access to the BeagleBone GPIOs.
