AI camera producer, Huddly, premieres the Huddly Multi-Camera Experience, the world’s first AI-directed multi-camera system. Created in collaboration with TV directors, it captures video meetings from multiple angles and edits them in real time, creating the kind of experience previously only known from TV and movies.

“The Huddly Multi-Camera Experience represents the first time anyone has used entertainment industry techniques to make video meetings dynamic and engaging. We’ve been working towards this ever since we founded Huddly, and we’re excited to finally get to share it with the world,” said Alexander Woxen, CEO at Huddly, adding: “This innovation means the end of virtual meeting fatigue.”

The Huddly Multi-Camera Experience engages participants like a movie engages its audience. Just like the best directors place the viewer right where the action takes place, Huddly’s AI director gives those joining remotely the feeling of being in the room, making them invested and actively engaged. Joining a conference call will feel like joining a great conversation – the kind that leaves you energised and inspired.

“This fantastic technology makes the meeting come alive for those working remotely. We see that it improves the flow and quality of the conversation and creates a better and more inclusive collaboration environment. In short, it adds a lot of value for all participants,” said Woxen.

Rather than only focusing on the people speaking, the system also cuts to the other people in the room, capturing non-verbal reactions and responses. This ensures that all attendees are part of the conversation – even the less outspoken ones – making for a more rewarding experience where all thoughts and perspectives are included.

The Huddly Multi-Camera Experience features three networked cameras with embedded AI. Thanks to a flexible, modular design, it easily adapts to a multitude of scenarios and setups. It can be used on any communication platform, including Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom. With Huddly’s networked camera platform and upgradeable software, it will continue to be a driver of innovation in the AI and virtual meeting space.

The Huddly Multi-Camera Experience will also be showcased at Google Cloud Next ’22 on 11 October 2022.

“We’re pleased to work with Huddly to bring advanced camera technology and multi-camera solutions to Google Meet Series One room kits,” said Dave Citron, Director of Product, Voice & Video, Google Workspace. “With increasing adoption of hybrid work, it’s important that everyone in the virtual meeting can have a full appreciation for what’s going on in the conference room.”

To demonstrate the power of the technology, Huddly’s AI director has been tasked with filming and directing the first movie ever created by an AI director.
