Dual channel WiFi dash cam packed with features
VIOFO has announced that it is introducing a new product to its range, the A129 Duo, to the UK. As the name suggests, it has a front main camera as well as a rear camera to capture footage both at the front and back of the vehicle. In addition, the device features GPS Logger and Parking mode and Dual-band WiFi.
With an F1.6 Aperture 7 elements glass lens, all footage captured by the front and rear cameras on the A129 Duo is of the highest quality at Full 1080P HD at 30fps. Thanks to the wide-angle 140° lens, both angles of the street can be easily viewed, and with dual Sony Starvis IMX291 Sensors, which capture better night vision than any other sensor, number plates can be viewed clearly in low-light conditions for night time driving. These matching sensors ensure video detail and colours will match when displayed alongside each other.
The front camera fits snuggly to the windscreen without getting in the way and includes a two inch screen to allow users to playback video and audio files or toggle camera settings instantly without having to use the app.
The GPS module on A129 Duo includes information about where the driver has been and how fast they were going, timestamping the speed and location for any given time. The GPS module also keeps the camera's clock synchronised to GPS satellites.
A built-in G-sensor on both cameras instantly know when the vehicle has been in an accident and automatically protects this footage from the overwrite feature. In Advanced Parking mode, this sensor also watches out for vandals and collisions when the vehicle is parked and unattended where the cameras will turn on automatically as soon as they detect motion nearby. It also records 15 seconds before the incident and 30 seconds afterwards to see what led to it and the aftermath.
With an SD card (sold separately) drivers can store up to 256GB of HD video on the A129 Duo. The camera also comes with a loop recording feature that automatically records over the oldest files when the memory card is full to make room for new recordings.
The Dual-band WiFi camera is capable of transmitting in either of two different standard frequency ranges, 2.4 and 5Ghz. The ability to utilise 5GHz on a dual band camera can help to avoid wireless interference and ensure WiFi remains stable and fast. Thanks to the built-in dual-band WiFi, footage can be viewed, downloaded and shared on the VIOFO app.
The A129 Duo is also compatible with a Bluetooth remote control (sold separately) which, when mounted in a convenient location on the dashboard, allows drivers to control the dash cam to protect important videos from being overwritten, without needing to take their eyes off the road with just one click.
