Clarion supplies Porsche with 360° camera system
Clarion has announced that it will supply Porsche with its 360° camera system for the company’s Panamera four-door sports sedan range. The companies have collaborated in the development of the camera, which will be offered as a factory-installed option for the 2014 model onwards.
Featuring Clarion’s patented image processing technology, the system generates a HD overhead image display, with accurate stitching, error-correction and multiple-image processing via the vehicle’s front, rear and side cameras. Blind spots are eliminated by the system’s 21 viewing modes, improving the overall safety of the vehicle.
Clarion has also supplied Porsche with a navigation system for the Panamera range in Japan.
“We are delighted to announce this partnership with Porsche, whose talented team of engineers are, like our own, committed to designing and developing technologies that help drivers in complex manoeuvres in parking lots, narrow streets or any critical situation,” commented Clarion.
