Arm has released the first instalment of the AI Readiness Index, a three-phase report designed to reflect organisations’ current state of readiness for successful AI deployments and serve as a guide for leaders on future direction.

The report – ‘Arm AI Readiness Index: Charting Progress and Opportunities in a Transforming World’ – includes findings from a comprehensive global study of over 650 business leaders across various industries.

Key findings include:

  • Widespread adoption, but limited strategy: the survey found 82% of global business leaders are currently using AI applications, yet despite this widespread adoption, only 39% report having a clearly defined, comprehensive strategy in place
  • Enthusiasm for AI runs deep: an overwhelming 90% of leaders report their organisations are receptive to AI-driven changes, with 83% considering AI adoption “urgent”
  • Overall strong AI investments, but different regions have different approaches: eight in ten organisations have dedicated AI budgets, with regional variations highlighting different approaches to investment. Asia-Pacific leads in budget allocation, with 86% of APAC businesses dedicating resources to AI initiatives, compared to 76% in Europe and 75% in the United States. However, American organisations are investing more aggressively, with 57% committing more than 10% of their IT budgets to AI, surpassing European (46%) and APAC (45%) counterparts

The report stresses that AI readiness is not just about access to technology but also about creating environments that encourage research, investment, and collaboration.

“The future of AI is being written today, by leaders willing to ask difficult questions, take bold risks, and make strategic investments in the foundations of tomorrow's success. My hope is that this report will serve as a valuable resource as you write your organisation's chapter in that future,” said Will Abbey, Chief Commercial Officer, Arm.
