NEC software uses facial recognition to verify mobile service users
The launch of NC7000-3A, a user data utilisation platform software that uses facial recognition for identity confirmation with mobile services for organisations such as financial institutions and telecommunication operators has been announced by NEC.
HANNOVER MESSE 2017 - what do we have to look forward to?
Let’s combine the ideas, robots that build other robots, machines that learn from their mistakes, energy systems that manage themselves, and involve a large amount of people and we have this year’s HANNOVER MESSE. It maybe the age of Industry 4.0 and ubiquitous digitalisation, but humans are now more central to the innovations on show at the world’s leading industrial technology fair than they have ever been before.
The trend of autonomous driving – do you trust it?
The secret ingredients for producing sleek vehicles for years have been common knowledge to only car manufacturers. But now, the wizards from Silicon Valley are eclipsing powerful engines and sleek bodywork with invisible algorithms. Until recently, self-driving cars were no more than pie in the sky. But suddenly, everyone is in a rush. Even legislators, who are generally not known for acting quickly.
GPU computing system suitable for real time applications
Vecow has launched its latest workstation-grade embedded elite, supporting up to 8K resolution and CUDA applications, ECS GTX1050 series GPU computing system. Powered by 7th generation Intel Xeon/Core i7 processor (Kaby Lake) running with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 series graphics engine, the computing system has advanced NVIDIA Pascal GPU architecture, all-in-one integrated features, multiple I/O connection, smart manageability, workstation-gr...
Is the rise of the machines closer than we think?
As a specialist in the manufacture of engineering parts in automated processes, electronic repair specialists Neutronic Technologies are very interested in where the future is heading. Is it going to take hundreds, if not thousands, of years for us to reach the kinds of automation that are lodged in the imaginations of sci-fi enthusiasts? Or are we a great deal closer to a machine takeover than we think? Neil Gallant, Managing Director of Neutron...
Sensor collaboration improves ADAS applications
To improve Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) applications and enable autonomous driving vehicles, Analog Devices and Renesas Electronics have announced they are collaborating on a system-level 77/79GHz RADAR sensor demonstrator. The new demonstrator combines two technologies that include the RH850/V1R-M microcontroller (MCU) from the Renesas autonomy platform and ADI’s Drive360 advanced 28nm CMOS RF-to-bits technology.
ADAS platform provides new capabilities for smart cameras
A new Advanced Driving Assistance Systems (ADAS) and automated driving platform has been launched by Renesas Electronics: Renesas autonomy. As the first rollout under its Renesas autonomy platform, Renesas released the R-Car V3M high-performance image recognition System-on-Chip (SoC) optimised primarily for use in smart camera applications, as well as surround view systems or even lidars.
RTI Connext DDS to accelerate autonomous driving
RTI Connext DDS from Real-Time Innovations (RTI) accelerates development of robust autonomous driving systems and gives developers an efficient path from prototyping to production and safety certification. Autonomous car design must seamlessly integrate multiple vendors, support compliance with evolving standards and enable continuous feature and performance improvements.
