The units are of integral design and contain specially designed low noise fans, which alleviates the comparably more expensive option of water-cooling with an external chiller. Linear Technology has announced the LT3503, a current mode PWM step-down DC/DC converter with an internal 1.45A power switch, packaged in a tiny 6-lead 2mm x 3mm DFN package. Allegro MicroSystems Europe has introduced four new voltage regulator integrated circuits for use in the LNB (low noise block) sections of analogue and digital satellite receivers. The A8290 and A8291 are single LNB supply control voltage regulators, while the A8286 and A8292 are dual LNB supply voltage regulators. All are designed for high efficiency, using Allegro's advanced BCD process.

Strategic Test has announced the BaseXIO option for the company’s series of UltraFast Oscilloscope and Arbitrary Wafeform Generator (AWG) cards. The new low-cost option adds eight asynchronous TTL channels to the PCI card.
