Starter Kits enable fast programmable logic development
DT Electronics is now stocking Xilinx Spartan-3E Starter Kits. Each kit is a complete development board including power supply, evaluation software, resource CD containing comprehensive technical data, and a USB cable. The kits support the Xilinx Spartan-3E and CoolRunner-II families of devices. They have an on-board 50MHz crystal clock oscillator, 128Mb parallel flash, 16Mb SPI flash and 64MB of DDR SRAM.
High efficiency pure sine wave inverters
Schaefer has introduced the AEP-1500 Series of 1500W, low cost, high efficiency, pure sine wave inverters. The “clean” pure sine wave output of the AEP-1500 Series, with less than 3% total harmonic distortion, is ideal for powering sensitive loads and for improving AC equipment performance.
Quad-channel Parametric Measurement Unit
Analog Devices is introducing the industry’s first quad-channel PMU (parametric measurement unit). The AD5522 combines four independent channels in a space-saving 12 mm × 12 mm TQFP package. Each of the four channels includes on-chip sense resistors for 5 microamp, 20 microamp, 200 microamp and 2 milliamp current ranges.
Computer-on-Module runs XP embedded
The CM-iGLX from Anders Electronics is an updated and performance-enhanced member of Anders Electronics’ compact and lightweight x86 Computer-on-Module (CoM), no larger than a credit card. Nearly four times smaller than competing nano-ITX boards, the CM-iGLX offers battery-powered operation yet can smoothly run Windows XP embedded as well as Linux and Windows CE.

Ramtron has launched the FM25L512, a 512 kilobit, 3V non-volatile FRAM device with a high-speed serial peripheral interface (SPI). The FM25L512 provides increased data collection and storage capacity in a tiny, 8-pin package, cutting costs and board space in a range of applications from multi-function printers to industrial motor controllers.

Digital Audio Amplifier Power Stage is first to Drive more than 300W on a Single Channel
Texas Instruments has introduced two new PurePath DigitalT power stages. The TAS5261 provides OEMs with the industry's highest power single-chip digital amplifier power stage, capable of driving more than 300 watts (W) into a 4-ohm speaker, while the two-channel TAS5162 digital amplifier power stage can drive 200 W per channel at 6 ohms and 125 W at 8 ohms.
