Voltage Supervisors with broad selection of Embedded Memory from Catalyst
Catalyst Semiconductor has launched three new families of voltage supervisors with the industry’s broadest selection of embedded memory. The CAT130xx supervisor family offers 1-, 4-, 8- and 16-kbit embedded EEPROM with Microwire serial interface. The CAT140xx and CAT150xx provide 2-, 4-, 8- and 16-kbit embedded EEPROM with I2C and SPI serial interface protocols, respectively.
CoWare and Tenison work together on Virtual Hardware Platforms for Architectural Exploration and Software Development
CoWare and Tenison Design Automation Inc., a company focused on delivering ESL tools that synthesize C++ and SystemC models from hardware designs described in Verilog or VHDL, jointly announced significant enhancements to the two companies' integrated design flow. These enhancements will accelerate the creation of virtual hardware platforms for architectural exploration and software development. The new flow enables the synthesis of the CoWare ...
Sixteenth brick DC/DC converters announced by SynQor
SynQor has extended its range of sixteenth brick dc/dc converters by now offering isolated outputs of 5V/12A and 1.8V/25A, with up to 60W of usable power in a 1.17in2 footprint. Using the DOSA standard pinout and footprint, the sixteenth brick footprint uses 43% less board space than eighth brick converters.
Zero-drift, digitally-programmable instrumentation amplifier
Analog Devices has introduced a zero-drift, digitally-programmable instrumentation amplifier (in-amp). Rated over an extended industrial temperature range, the AD8231 is suited for a variety of sensors, including resistance temperature detectors, thermocouples and automotive pressure sensors, in harsh environments where minute signal variations must be accurately detected in the presence of large common-mode voltages.
FPA Customer Evaluation and Validation Boards from Vicor
Vicor has announced the availability of a range of 52 Factorized Power Architecture (FPA) Customer Evaluation and Validation Boards, featuring BCM, PRM and VTM V•I Chip power components. In addition Vicor has created an expanding library of V•I Chip application notes to support the implementation of power system designs. The introduction of the evaluation boards and application note library provides a quick and easy way to get an appreciati...
Miniature RF switches are ideal for VXIbus applications
New from RF and microwave component specialist Link Microtek are three series of miniature electromechanical RF switches that have been designed for use in 1-slot VXIbus modules and other applications where space is restricted.
Integrated AM/FM radio receiver
Silicon Laboratories has announced the extension of its broadcast audio product portfolio to include the Si473x AM/FM receiver family. The Si473x enables an AM/FM receiver to be easily added to consumer devices such as clock and portable radios, home stereos, MP3 players, docking stations and mobile handsets.
Lightweight low voltage link box is easy to install
A new low voltage 2 and 4 way link box for connecting and switching underground low voltage cables has recently been introduced by B&H, part of Tyco Electronics - Energy Products division. A patented modular assembly integrates single resin casting, snap-fit terminal cover, diving bell lid, and pit enclosure. This new modular concept significantly reduces the weight and size of the new link boxes, making them easier to install in areas where spac...
Chip inductor series offers low inductance for high frequency applications
Recently expanded to create a broader range of options for design engineers, the 3650 series of chip inductors from Tyco Electronics offers a wide range of inductance values from 1.0nH up to 4.7mH, as required by ever more demanding high frequency applications. The wide value range makes the devices an ideal choice for filtering and signal conditioning in cellular phones, global positioning systems (GPS), digital TV tuners, cordless telephones, W...
STMicroelectronics' Software Kit Supports Complete USB Firmware Development for STR7 and STR9 MCUs
STMicroelectronics has announced a USB software Developer Kit for the STR7 and STR9 microcontroller families that will greatly simplify the implementation of embedded software to handle the relatively complex USB interface standard. USB is now very widely used in embedded systems, due to both its flexibility and simplicity for the user and also the availability of high-performance MCUs with integrated USB modules.
