Testing 5G for Brazilian spectrum auction
Viavi Solutions has announced it is working with Brazil’s national telecommunications agency (Agência Nacional de Telecomunicações, ANATEL) to evaluate and test 5G-suitable spectrum ahead of auctions that will take place in 2020. The planned auction is the biggest in the history of ANATEL and will involve the 700MHz, 2.3, 2.5 and 26GHz frequency bands.

Radio units for 5G base station equipment shipped
NEC Corporation has announced the provision of radio units (RU) for 5G base station equipment to NTT DOCOMO. NEC began shipping three types of small-cell RU that support the 3.7, 4.5 and 28GHz bands and are compliant with O-RAN fronthaul interface specifications.
