Invitation issued to help build the first printed house

Now WASP invites everybody interested to participate and actively contribute to the building of the first house, entirely printed with eco-friendly, locally found, materials (a mixture of terrain and straw kneaded with a mixing machine and a motor hoe). The working method is simple: for every problem, look for the best solution. The test started last week has been successful so far and it has been decided that the team will continue to print the first habitable module until it has been completed.

First experiences have taught the team a lot. The mixture of terrain and straw is light and strong. Now they have a 50cm high wall, extruding more than 400 quintal of material.

Once finished the prototype will be destroyed, so the raw material will be cultivable again.

The keyword of the Technological village is 'DIY'. The team has an economic vision to build a self-sufficient society able to produce basic requirements in many fields: housing, food, employment, healthcare, education and art.

Over the followindays, more WASP's printers will be taken to Shamballa. For example the DeltaWASP 3MT, a machine able to print plastic pellet or, changing the extruder, semi-fluid materials (such as geopolymers and clay) and, with an other tool, can mill and cut different types of materials.

At the Technological Village the team will produce house furniture and it will be the theme of the first open-air workshop that will start 23^rd July. Anyone interested in partecipating is welcome to use WASP’s printers. The next workshops, always held at weekends, will concentrate on vertical vegetable gardens (aromatic spirals), ceramic plates printing and kilns construction. Members of FabLab Venezia were amongst those who participated at the previous workshop.
