Panasonic introduces compact servo drive family
Panasonic Industry has recently introduced its compact MINAS A7 servo drive family, now available for customer orders across Europe.
The MINAS A7 is the first commercially available servo system equipped with AI, incorporating Panasonic Industry's proprietary precAIse tuning technology. This system fully leverages AI to deliver highly accurate automatic tuning, significantly reducing the need for specialist engineers and cutting setup time by as much as 90%.
The MINAS A7 motors and drives enhance equipment performance while simplifying both installation and operation. The integrated AI allows the system to automate tasks that would typically require expert intervention due to the limitations of traditional automatic tuning functions. This technology also delivers superior motion performance, featuring an encoder resolution of 27 bits and 134,217,728 pulses per revolution. Furthermore, the speed response frequency, a key indicator of servo amplifier control performance, reaches an industry-leading 4.0 kHz or higher. The servo motor also achieves a top rotational speed of 7,150 rpm, helping to reduce cycle times.
The MINAS A7 stands out with its compact design, providing both space savings and cost benefits. Additionally, the servo drives are backward compatible with MINAS A6 devices, allowing for straightforward 1:1 replacement thanks to identical interfaces and flange sizes.
“Our newly introduced MINAS A7 servo drive family ensures an extremely stable operation and longer service life of machine components thanks to the online monitoring tools," explained Philipp Zebisch, Senior Team Manager Product Management at Panasonic. "With the development of the MINAS A7 series, we have achieved an optimum of human-machine operations due to its highly intelligent automation and monitoring capabilities. They reduce installation time and maintenance costs and guarantee the highest processing quality and speed in numerous applications like spin coaters, dicing saws, chip transfer machines, IC handlers, bonding equipment, equipment for substrate inspection, metal and laser processing machines, injection molding machines, presses and pipe-bending machines.”
