Nemo Nanomaterials unveils 50-tonne production line

Following increased demand from Europe, the company has outlined plans to inaugurate an additional production line by the first quarter of 2025, designed to produce hundreds of tonnes each year.

The company's NemoBLEND additives, which utilise a single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNT) hybrid formulation, fulfil dual functions: they impart electrical conductivity to materials, eliminating the necessity for metal conductors, and provide electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding to safeguard sensitive electronics from disruption. These advantages make the additives suitable for mass production and integration into various plastic components, thereby enhancing the performance and environmental sustainability of materials across numerous sectors, including aerospace, rail, automotive, and more.

NemoBLEND additives are engineered for seamless integration with standard plastic manufacturing techniques, thereby facilitating innovative design opportunities, advanced functionalities, weight savings, and improved sustainability.

In anticipation of the growing market demand from the US and Europe, Nemo plans to establish a manufacturing facility in Israel a year following the proposed line's launch, with additional expansions in key markets under consideration. The forthcoming production line is poised to primarily serve the material needs of the transportation and energy industries.

This European demand surge is partly attributed to a strategic alliance with Kafrit Group, a global producer of masterbatches and compounds. This partnership involves an investment from Kafrit in Nemo and a collaborative effort to market nanomaterial-based concentrates, focusing on masterbatches for electrical conductivity and EMI shielding in plastics.
