Reference Designs
Universal 350W CCM PFC with >98% Efficiency and Small Form Factor Reference Design
Texas Instruments
The TIDA-00776 design is a 350-W cost competitive power factor regulator converter designed for refrigerators and other appliances applications. This reference design is a Continuous-Conduction-Mode (CCM) boost converter that uses TI’s UCC28180 PFC controller and has all the necessary built-in protections. The hardware is designed and tested to pass the current harmonic requirement of IEC61000-3-2 (2014) for household appliances.
Features
- Universal input from 90-VAC to 265-VACCovering IEC 61000-3-2 Class D requirements for current harmonicsConversion efficiency >98.2% (Hi-line)Small PCB form factor of 82mm x 80mm x 25mmEnhanced dynamic response during output overvoltage and undervoltage conditionsVery low standby power consumption of less than 300mW
