The performance of sonar receivers on board a ship are degraded by mechanical noise. In order to improve the detection performance of the acoustic sensors (hydrophones) we have designed a local mechanical noise cancelling system using the Adaptive Noise Cancelling (ANC) approach with a single noise reference .
