Versatile RFI filters meet high frequency operation
Electronica 2018 Preview: RFI filters from Schaffner are equipped withIEC Inlet C14 or C20. The dual-stage FN 9255 filters have been developed for high frequency applications, above 30MHz and join the company’s existing FN 92XX filter families.
This is the first power inlet designed by the company to operate up to 300MHz. The length is slightly longer than the company’s standard IEC inlet, and it has the same cut out as the FN 9222, FN 9233, FN9244, allowing designers to exchange inlet filters if a system requires higher performance than one of the basic models.
The series is offered in approximately 100 different filter types, including those designed for medical applications, one with and one without an earth line choke. A rear mount version includes a press-in nut to allow reliable assembly without adding complexity to the system chassis, says the company.
The choice of variants and their attenuation properties means that filters in the FN 9255 series can be used as a filtered power inlet for a range of applications including medical, audio, video and household appliances.
The filters have international safety approvals (UL 60939-3, IEC 60939-3 and CQC), are CE marked and are compatible with the RoHS II (2015/863) directive.
