Wise-integration and Leadtrend launch GaN SiP

French-based company Wise-integration, together with Leadtrend Technology Corporation, a specialist in analogue and analogue-digital mixed-mode IC designs, has announced the release of a GaN system-in-package (SiP) for consumer electronics applications.

This collaboration focuses on a 65-watt USB PD adapter designed for high-speed charging of smartphones, laptops, and other devices. The LD966LGQALVE High Voltage Multi-Mode PWM Controller with GaN integration includes Leadtrend’s silicon die flyback controller and Wise-integration’s 650V e-mode gallium-nitride (GaN) transistor die in a single SiP, which has successfully passed 1000 hours of operating life tests (OLT). Mascot introduces its 4040 NiMH battery charger

Mascot AS introduced its next-generation high-quality, high-performance NiMH battery charger, the new model 4040 NIMH.

The 4040 uses a three-stage charging profile with a microcontroller to maximise battery performance. The new charger has a robust -dV sensitivity detection and its top-off charge makes sure all cells are fully charged and balanced. (Read more.)

Power Integrations launches single-board plug-and-play gate drivers

Power Integrations announced the launch of the SCALE-iFlex XLT family of dual-channel plug-and-play gate drivers for operation of single LV100 (Mitsubishi), XHP 2 (Infineon), HPnC (Fuji Electric) and equivalent semiconductor modules up to 2300V blocking voltage for wind, energy storage and solar renewable energy installations.

This single-board driver enables active thermal management of inverter modules for improved system utilisation and reduces the bill-of-material count for increased reliability. (Read more.)

Advantest new power supply for V93000 EXA scale SoC

Advantest has announced the newest addition to its portfolio of power supplies for the V93000 EXA Scale SoC test platform.

The DC Scale XHC32 power supply offers 32 channels with an unprecedented single-instrument total current of up to 640A, enabling the card to efficiently address the rapidly rising power requirements for artificial intelligence (AI) accelerators, high-performance computing (HPC) chips, graphical processing units (GPUs), and other high-current devices like network switches and high-end application processors. STMicroelectronics reveals monolithic automotive synchronous buck converters

STMicroelectronics introduced automotive-qualified step-down synchronous DC/DC converters designed to save space and ease integration in applications such as body electronics, audio systems, and inverter gate drivers.

The A6983 converters offered flexible design choices, comprising six non-isolated step-down converters in low-consumption and low-noise configurations, and the A6983I isolated buck converter. With compensation circuitry on-chip, these highly integrated monolithic devices required minimal external components including filtering, feedback, and a transformer with the A6983I. (Read more.)
