TDK expands i1C series with new 200W non-isolated buck-boost DC-DC converters
TDK Corporation has announced the launch of its latest i1C series DC-DC converters under the TDK-Lambda brand. Designed in the standard 1"x1" package, these 200W non-isolated buck-boost converters deliver both step-up and step-down voltage conversion. Operating from input voltages of 9 to 36V or 18 to 75V, the i1C series offers output voltage ranges adjustable from 9.6V to 28V, with a maximum current capacity of 10A.
These versatile converters are ideal for applications requiring a broad range of high-power DC outputs, such as in 12V, 24V, and 48V systems. Key markets include medical devices, industrial automation, test and measurement equipment, and battery-powered systems like Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), Industrial Mobile Robots (IMRs), and drones. By replacing isolated converters with the i1C models, users can access a higher power output without sacrificing efficiency or reliability.
High efficiency for demanding environments
With an efficiency rating of up to 98%, the i1C series operates effectively in challenging thermal conditions, maintaining case temperatures between -40°C and +120°C. The compact design, with dimensions of 26.42 x 26.42 x 10.2mm, makes it an excellent fit for space-constrained applications. Encapsulated in a robust five-sided aluminium case, these converters are engineered to withstand high levels of shock and vibration while minimizing radiated EMI, simplifying system compliance.
The series also includes critical features like output voltage adjustment, positive or negative logic remote on/off control, and comprehensive protection against under-voltage, over-current, and thermal overloads.

The i1C models carry CE and UKCA marks, certifying compliance with the Low Voltage and RoHS Directives. They are also designed to meet the stringent IEC/UL/CSA/EN 62368-1 safety standards, ensuring safe operation across a range of environments.
