Power modules maximise converter system efficiency
With ACEPACK, ST Microelectronics has launched a series of adaptable, compact and easier package power modules. They are perfectly suited for simple, efficient and rugged industrial motor designs up to 30kW. The power modules are now available in two versions, ACEPACK 1 and ACEPACK 2, at www.Rutronik24.com.
The power modules come with Sixpack and Converter Inverter Brake (CIB) topologies.
With an embedded NTC thermistor, these highly reliable power modules offer a compromise between conduction and switching loss, maximising the efficiency of any converter system up to 20kHz in hard-switching circuitries for an application range from 3 to 30kW.
The PressFIT feature and additional solder pin options enable flexible and stable mounting for compact designs and cost-effective systems.
Thanks to their configuration flexibility, the ACEPACK-modules can implement other topologies on different IGBT, MOSFET and SiC power switching applications.
Further key features include a 15A to 75A current rating at 25°C, a 650V to 1200V Breakdown voltage and a 2.5kV isolation voltage. Due to the module design, the stray inductance is very low. The maximum junction temperature of 175°C ensures increased robustness and high reliability.
The ACEPACK is therefore ideally suited for industrial motor drives, 3-phase inverters for motor drivers up to 30kW, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and hybrid and electric vehicles.
