XP Power announced a new series of low-profile 550W AC/DC power supplies designed for convection, conduction, and forced-air cooling.

Approved for both medical and industrial applications, the new CCP550 series is ideal for a wide range of uses, including sealed enclosure environments.

In the medical sector, CCP550 units are suitable for various devices such as ventilators, patient monitors, imaging systems, and laboratory equipment. Industrial applications include test equipment, instrumentation, process control, industrial printing, and UV curing. Additionally, they are well-suited for factory automation, audio/video, and Internet of Things (IoT) equipment.

The CCP550 series features six different single rail outputs, including 12, 15, 18, 24, 36V, and 48VDC. All units, except the 15V model, come with a 12V, 0.5A fan output, and offer a 5V/2A standby output and remote on/off capability as options.

The series has a double-decker aluminium substrate baseplate construction, conduction-cooled power magnetics, and high-efficiency zero voltage switching (ZVS) topology, ensuring high efficiency and excellent thermal performance. Convection cooling allows for operation up to 300W, while conduction cooling supports up to 400W, making these units ideal for sealed environments, silent operation, and high reliability.

With forced air of 20CFM, CCP550 units deliver the full 550W output, providing excellent power density in a low-profile design (37.5mm [1.48”] height) with a 127.0 x 76.2mm [5” x 3”] footprint.

For medical applications, CCP550 devices are approved to IEC60601-1 Ed.3, featuring 2 x MOPP from primary to secondary and 1 x MOPP from primary to earth and secondary to earth. Low earth and patient leakage currents make the CCP550 ideal for body floating (BF) patient contact medical devices.

A wide input voltage range (80 – 264VAC) ensures suitability for global use, including home healthcare applications. The units operate in ambient temperatures ranging from -30 to +70°C. When the main output is inhibited, the units draw less than 0.5W, meeting stringent energy efficiency standards.

The CCP550 series offers an easy-to-integrate, high power density, high-efficiency solution for a wide range of fan-less and fan-cooled applications, including medical devices, industrial electronics, and test and measurement. The series supports sealed, semi-sealed, and other high IP-rating applications with conduction cooling capability.

Available from Avnet Abacus, Digi-Key, Distrelec, Farnell, Mouser, RS Components, approved regional distributors, or directly from XP Power, the CCP550 series comes with a 3-year warranty.
