Uninterruptible Power Supplies Limited (UPSL), a Kohler company, today announced the appointment of David Renton to the role of Global Managing Director. Formerly the Chief Operating Officer for leading data centre provider Global Switch, Renton will now lead UPSL through its strategic international expansion programme announced in May.
David has demonstrated sustained success over many years at several leading technology companies, including Honeywell, Chloride Group PLC and most recently Global Switch. While at Chloride Group, David led the development and remarkable growth of the sales and service operations throughout Europe and Asia Pacific, stated Dick Fotsch, President, Kohler Global Power Group. David brings to UPSL a unique combination of proven management skills and strong industry knowledge which will enable us to capitalize on the considerable domestic and overseas opportunities available. David is a valuable addition to an already strong team.

Renton will lead UPSL's strategic expansion strategy, which is already underway, with the first international office opening in Singapore in June, with other new locations planned for 2011.

It's a privilege to join a dynamic and successful business – especially one with such ambitious plans for growth, commented Renton. UPSL has a product range and service reputation which is already world-class, and with Kohler's acquisition of the company in 2008, has the opportunity to become a leading global power protection systems supplier.

He continued: Globally, the market for uninterruptible power supplies has expanded at an impressive rate over the past few years and shows no sign of slowing. In fact, on the contrary, as critical IT functions grow and power demand for IT systems continues to rise, the need for advanced modular uninterruptable power supply technology is also increasing exponentially – making it the perfect time to expand globally, as well as increase UPSL's market share in the UK.
