Intepro Provides Total Test Package For VxI Power
Intepro Systems has commissioned a new power supply test system at Lincoln based VxI Power Ltd. Established in 2003, VxI Power draws on many years of experience of technical expertise and has established a reputation for providing high reliability power solutions for mission critical applications.
VxI The latest Intepro ATE system was specified to replace an existing system not capable of testing the advanced technology and functionality of VxI’s latest products. The new system allows VxI not only to test functionality of the power converters but also to test a number of communications protocols including, Modbus, GSM and Bluetooth wireless communications functions embedded within the products. These advanced features are being implemented on a number of VxI’s key products being rolled out over the next few months.
Colin Sycamore, European Sales Manager of Intepro comments, “Our brief was to provide a replacement for VxI’s existing Intepro 6500 ATE which would be capable of testing all of VxI’s current product range and have the capability to test the extensive and advanced communications functions embedded within their new products. By working very closely with VxI and their customers we were able to provide a bespoke test solution on time and on budget. ”
Intepro ensured a seamless transfer of the existing test programs from the old system, running under the previous generation of PowerStar test software and implemented a more sophisticated fixturing and interfacing solution to avoid the traditional use of leads and connectors which suffer with problems of poor reliability.
Tim McCann, Operations Director of VxI Power, comments,” We aim to be the preferred supplier in our chosen markets and offer our customers a level of personal service which makes us different to our competitors. To further this the Intepro team worked not only with VxI but also very closely with our customer’s engineers in order to ensure that the ATE system specified tested all the power and onboard communication and control characteristics of our power supplies. Intepro offered software development advice and professional fixturing solutions from AH designs to ensure seamless integration in to our production facility. As our new products evolve it is likely a second system will be required in the future.”
Intepro has been the market leader in power supply testing for over 25 years and its systems are used in telecommunications, aerospace, military and other power electronics applications. Intepro has a global reach with direct sales offices in the U.K., Ireland and U.S. and distributors covering Europe, China, Korea and Japan.
