The MPQ60W series is a high-performance DC/DC converter designed for use in many medical and homecare applications, such as laser treatment, electrosurgical systems, physiotherapy chairs, medical aesthetic, endoscopic devices, patient monitoring, drug delivery, and defibrillation equipment.

Due to its low leakage current being less than 4.5μA, these DC/DC converters can also be used for the most stringent classification of type-CF equipment (CF standing for 'cardiac floating').

This series is certified according to IEC/EN/ANSI/AAMI ES 60601-1, IEC/EN 60601-1-2, 4th edition and IEC/EN/UL 62368-1. It is designed with 5000VAC reinforced 2 x MOPP insulation, 250VAC working voltage and 8mm air clearance and creepage distance.

These high-density power converters provide 60W output power in a quarter brick package and have a patented transformer design, which allows the converters to perform with an efficiency of up to 92.5%. The optimised manufacturing process and construction, certified to ISO 13485, guarantees the highest reliability. They have a 4:1 input range of 9 to 36VDC and 18 to 75VDC and come equipped with protection circuits for over/under-voltage protection, over-current and short-circuit and over-temperature protection. The available ISO 14971 Risk Management file supports designers in preparing technical documentation for medical devices.

On top of this, these units are compliant with MIL-STD-810F for shock and vibration. With an operating altitude of up to 5,000 metres and a wide operating ambient temperature range of −40°C to +105°C, these converters are a suitable choice for powering any medical application where a safety barrier is required.
