DC/DC converters from XP achieve 20% footprint reduction and maintain industry standard DIP-24 pin-out
XP Power has announced its JCA series of miniature, board-mounted low power DC/DC converters. Measuring just 25.4 x 20.3 x 10.0 mm (1 x 0.8 x 0.4 inches), the device’s shielded metal package is 6.4 mm (0.25 inches) shorter than the 31.8 mm (1.25 inch) industry norm. Using the customary 24-pin DIP layout, the units occupy 20% less printed circuit board area than traditional products. This allows designers to reduce the size of new developments or add in more features, while maintaining the industry standard pin-out makes the converter an ideal drop-in replacement for existing designs.
The Suitable for a wide variety of application environments, the converters operate from -40 degrees to +100 degrees C with derating above +75 degrees C. No additional heat sinking or forced air cooling is required. The maximum case temperature is +100 degrees C.
The series has EN, UL, CSA and CE safety approvals and meets EN55022-A for conducted emissions and EN55022-B for radiated emissions without any additional components.
