Baseplate-cooled 500W AC-DC power supplies from TDK-Lambda

TDK-Lambda launches the CPFE500 range of baseplate-cooled power supplies capable of providing 500W without the need for fan cooling. With an extended temperature range (-40 to +85°C) this innovative range of AC-DC power supplies will be of particular interest to engineers who need high power but cannot use fans or where the unit is sealed in an enclosure.
The power supply is available with protective coating to protect against the ingress of dust, moisture and other con-taminants making the CPFE500 ideal for harsh, dusty or outdoor applications, such as broadcast, food processing, LED signage, COTS military and print & packaging applications. Since there is no fan, the CPFE500 series is equally suited to low audible noise applications, such as audio mixing desks and recording studios. All models in the CPFE500 range are delivered with TDK-Lambda's two-year warranty, and meet EN55022/EN55011 Class B and MIL STD 461/462D CE102 EMC specifications thus simplifying system design.

These single output power supplies are available in 12V, 28V or 48VDC versions. Up to ±20% output voltage adjust-ment is possible, enabling the CPFE500 to be used in a variety of customer specific bulk power applications. With an extended temperature range (-40 to +85°C) and lightning surge capability (up to 6kV), the CPFE500 is both rugged and reliable. Efficiency of up to 88% ensures heat dissipation is minimised. Operating from a universal input of 90 to 265VAC with PFC, the CPFE500 can operate both in series or parallel with built in ORing diode and active current share as standard. A power on signal, remote on/off, and remote sense are included.
