PCIM 2014: Single driver cores for IGBT modules have been introduced by CT-Concept Technologie. The 1SC0450V cores have blocking voltages of 4.5 and 6.5kV. The core measures 60 x 90mm and the partial-discharge-free, low-coupling-capacitance, high voltage DC/DC transformer height is just 27.5mm.

It enables IGBTs to be paralleled using one driver core to reduce system size and increase reliability through reducing component count. The core is based on the company’s SCALE-2 chipset with a transformer design allows test voltages up to 10.4kVRMS and a partial discharge extinction voltage of 7800V peak.

The cores, unveiled in Nuremberg, join the company’s  2SC0535T 3.3kV and 2SC0635T 4.5kV dual gate driver cores.
