Bourns, a manufacturer and supplier of electronic components for power, protection, and sensing solutions, has announced the expansion of its Riedon Industrial Shunt Resistor range with the introduction of six new models.

These new shunt resistors are designed to offer exceptional current handling capabilities, ensuring precise current measurements across a variety of applications, including battery management systems (BMS), solar inverters, welding and heat-treating equipment, battery chargers, power supplies, cathodic protection rectifiers, as well as marine and mobile accessories.

The newly introduced industrial shunt resistor models are available with options for both panel and busbar mounting. The Riedon RSN and RS Series shunts by Bourns are panel-mounted products capable of handling currents ranging from 1 A to 1200 A, with resistance values spanning from 0.0417 milliohms to 100 milliohms, and tolerances between 0.25% and 1%.

Meanwhile, the Riedon RSH, RSI, RSJ, and RSW Series shunts are designed for direct busbar mounting, accommodating currents from 5 A to 6000 A, with resistance values ranging from 0.025 milliohms to 10 milliohms and a tolerance of 0.25%.

All Riedon industrial shunt resistors by Bourns feature precision engineering, utilising low-resistance Manganin as the resistive material. These shunts also operate within a wide temperature range of -40 °C to +80 °C, and their compact design, coupled with centre-mounted voltage taps, simplifies system integration and implementation.

The entire range of six Riedo industrial shunt resistor models by Bourns is now available, and all models are RoHS compliant.
