ROHM Offers New Lq Current Technology For Linear And Switching Regulators
ROHM has just announced new linear regulators and switching regulators based on innovative low quiescent current technology. The new power management utilizes a proprietary circuit design to significantly reduce current consumption during stand-by. Efficient power management has become an important design consideration in order to save energy, especially for applications relying on battery power.
WhilThe BD7xxLx series in a HTSOP-J8 package is a family of low quiescent current linear regulators featuring 45V absolute maximum voltage, an output voltage accuracy of ±2%, 200mA or 500mA output current and 6.5μA (Typ.) current consumption. Low saturation voltage is achieved by using a PMOS output transistor and ceramic capacitors can be used for compensation of the output capacitor phase.
The BD9901x series in a HTSSOP-B24 package offers low Iq DCDC regulators for a maximum input voltage of 42V, 2A output current and a quiescent current consumption of typ. 22 μA. Integrated MOSFETs serve as synchronous rectifier and the switching frequency is scaled from 200k to 500kHz. In addition, the line-up features current mode control.
