Automotive brushed DC motor driver ICs
Expanding its line-up of small sized brushed DC motor drivers for automotive applications, Toshiba introduce the TB9101FNG and TB9102FNG motor driver ICs. Supplied in a 5.6 mm x 7.8 mm SSOP24 package, the TB9101FNG and TB9102FNG feature on-resistances of 0.6Ω (Typ.) and 0.5Ω (Typ.), respectively, and can drive up to two and six motors, respectively.
The small sized SSOP24 package reduces the mounting area by approximately 2/3 compared to equivalent products, contributing to the downsizing of PCBs. Helping to improve the functional safety of automotive systems, the new motor driver ICs integrate multiple abnormality detection circuits including overcurrent detection, overtemperature detection, overvoltage detection, and undervoltage detection.
Some automotive applications that use small motors, including control of air-conditioner valves and door mirrors, require low-power consumption driver ICs. The new TB9101FNG and TB9102FNG motor driver ICs from Toshiba are fabricated with the low power consumption, fine pitch BiCD process, and realize low on-resistance, reducing power consumption.
Mass production is scheduled to start in February 2014.
