In this episode of the Electronic Specifier Insights podcast we’ll be speaking to Catherine Ramsdale, SVP of PragmatIC and James Myers a distinguished engineer at Arm Holdings about their collaboration for the ground-breaking PlasticARM project, the first fully functional non-silicon ARM processor.

Catherine has over 15 years' experience in printed electronics R&D both with PragmatIC and Plastic Logic. She has pioneered technologies for semiconductor devices on plastic, including successful transfer to manufacturing.

James leads the devices and circuits team at Arm Research and is an expert in low power design with 20+ patents and 15+ chip tapeouts. James joined Arm in 2007, where he was responsible for developing RTL-GDS2 reference flows for the various ARM soft processor cores.

They will be discussing:

  • How the PlasticARM project will pioneer embedding billions of low-cost, ultra-thin microprocessors into everyday objects to realise the Internet of Everything
  • The development of the largest integrated circuit that was designed using PragmatIC’s FlexIC Foundry service
  • The many years of cooperation between the R&D teams at Arm and PragmatIC to make this a reality
