Season 3 - Episode #7 - The impact of VR on medical training
Oxford Medical Simulation offers virtual reality medical simulation training, with the aim of improving the quality of healthcare by giving professionals readily accessible and affordable ways to practice without risking lives.
Essentially it allows practice hours to be gained without the need for expensive mannequins and kit, and without having to wait for a trainer to be available – which is good news for medical students’ ongoing training, particularly at the moment with all the strain on the NHS, but also potentially for helping retired doctors and nurses get back up to speed with certain issues should they be required.
To find out more we’re speaking to Dr Jack Potle, Co-founder and Medical Director, Oxford Medical Simulation.
