JUKI to Highlight Latest Technology Equipment, Including Flexible Mounters and Intelligent Feeders at SMT/HYBRID/PACKAGING 2010

EPV (Embedded Process Verification) is a high performance image acquisition and analysis system that acquires pick & place images during the SMT placement process. EPV is mounted directly on a placement head for on-the-fly imaging with no cycle time penalty. JUKI’s unique feature is the only system in the world that can visualize feeder action during pick & place. JUKI calls it the “eyes” into the assembly process. Especially high reliability and very high volume users will profit from the systems. Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) leads to improved first pass yield which again results in big savings for the customer.

JUKI will also display the IFS-X2 RFID intelligent feeder system with traceability. This second generation feeder system provides enhanced graphics and an improved user interface that makes feeder setup easier, faster and more accurate. IFS-X2 allows for inventory control and features a closed-loop system that tracks the entire material flow and production process to ensure error-free production and total traceability with RFID technology. On- and offline feeder banks are networked, allowing the user to quickly and accurately locate any feeder for quick and easy loading. The second highlight at the software station will be the Intelligent Shopfloor Solutions (IS). IS is a completely new modular server/client line management software that includes all the necessary functions such as multiple users, multiple lines, integrated intelligent feeder and traceability. And it goes even further: with the IS you have all the tools you need from importing the CAD data, creating the pick and place program with automation of component database completion, to downloading the appropriate program to the machine line. Any modifications to a pick and place program will be tracked automatically. With one click the complete history of each program is available. Does the current production situation require switching a product from one line to another? That’s easy – the IS is fully integrated over the entire shop floor, be it a single line or multi-line production. The modular concept allows you to transfer the program with a few mouse clicks.
