IDT's Displayport-Compatible Receiver Solution For The Flat Panel Display Market
IDT has announced the availability of a DisplayPort receiver and timing controller (TCON) device for inclusion in flat panel displays for monitors, notebooks, and LCD TV displays. The IDT PanelPort device offers OEMs an increased level of digital signal integrity by significantly reducing electromagnetic interference (EMI) on all monitor or display device interfaces by utilizing IDT spread spectrum clocking technology.
The PanelPort device is able to achieve this level of digital signal integrity through its unique incorporation of in-house customizable serializer/deserializer (SerDes) and industry leading IDT serial interface and timing technologies. The IDT customized PanelPort solution - which includes an embedded TCON for notebook applications - is architected to improve performance by extending battery life and reducing power consumption through optimal thermal management, thus enabling further differentiation for the flat panel display market. The IDT PanelPort device is fully compliant to the DisplayPort 1.1a standard. Additionally, the device supports full video interface and includes security encryption through HDCP1.3 The PanelPort four lane receiver device is capable of supporting up to WQXGA (2560x1600 @ 60Hz) display mode for monitor panels as well as two-lane 1920x1080 @ 60Hz and for notebook panels. The IDT VPP1600EMG PanelPort device is available in a 100-pin TQFP (thin quad flat pack) package and supports cabling of 15 meters for added user flexibility.
