Fairchild to Highlight Motion Control, Embedded DC-DC and Industrial Power Supply Solutions at PCIM Europe 2011
Fairchild will demonstrate industry-leading technologies for power supplies and motion control applications at PCIM Europe 2011, 17-19 May, in Hall 12, booth 601, in Nuremberg, Germany.
At the show, Fairchild Semiconductor will focus on embedded DC-DC, industrial power supply, motor and automotive solutions.Embedded DC-DC solutions will address the designer’s need for high efficiency at full and light load conditions while solving thermal issues, increasing power density and meeting space constraints.
Industrial power supply solutions address the need to decrease time-to-market while differentiating designs. These solutions also focus on the design demands required to meet energy regulations for lower standby power consumption, while providing robust and reliable operations without downtime. Motor and automotive solutions highlight Fairchild’s ability to increase the reliability and efficiency of a motor drive in limited PCB space while reducing system failures when the DC drives are operated under extreme conditions.
Demonstrations at PCIM Europe 2011 include:
* DC-DC power solutions that showcase AccuPower™ load switch series, the industry’s first 2.8V to 36V integrated load switches, intended to address the designer’s mid-voltage needs, as well as mid-voltage MOSFETs designed specifically to minimize conduction loss, switch node ringing, and to improve the overall efficiency of DC-DC converters.
* Lighting solutions, like the FAN6300A, a PWM controller that can be used for a 20W dimmable board. This product provides several features to enhance the performance of flyback converters.
* Industrial solutions including our FOD8012, a full duplex, bi-directional, high-speed logic gate optocoupler, which supports isolated communications allowing digital signals to communicate between systems without conducting ground loops or hazardous voltages.
* Motor solutions including Fairchild’s series 5 smart power modules (SPM®) with built-in bootstrap diodes and gate drivers in small packages (29mm x 12mm) for increased manufacturing flexibility. Also on display will be new 40V – 150V MOSFETs employing a shielded-gate structure that provides charge balance, offering high robustness (UIS) with excellent body diode performance and a lower Irrm and higher dv/dt rating.
