ON Semiconductor has introduced a series of small signal transistors that are fully qualified in accordance with the MIL-PRF-19500 and MIL-STD-750 standards for discrete semiconductors broadly used in military and aerospace equipment.

“ON Semiconductor already has a strong reputation in the military and aerospace sectors for digital and mixed-signal ASICs and custom foundry services,” said Vince Hopkin, vice president of the Digital, Mil-Aero and Image Sensor division at ON Semiconductor. “This new series of discrete devices will further enhance the solutions and technologies we offer military designers and purchasers.

Not only will these products deliver high reliability in extreme operating conditions, they will also be supported for product lifecycles that match the long-term supply requirements of military and aerospace applications.”

The ON Semiconductor small signal PNP and NPN silicon epitaxial switching transistors are on the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Land and Maritime Qualified Products List (QPL) and available in versions that meet JAN, JANTX and JANTXV quality levels.

All product versions are supplied in hermetically sealed metal can packages and are designed for an extended operating and storage junction temperature range of -65 °C to +200 °C.

2N2905A TO-39 -60V -60V -600mA MIL-PRF-19500/290

Target applications for the MIL-PRF-19500-qualified devices include switching and linear amplification in missile guidance, munitions, radio communications, commercial and military avionics and other military and aerospace systems where high reliability in harsh conditions and longevity of product supply are key design considerations.

During 2011, ON Semiconductor plans to add more transistors to its range of MIL-PRF-19500-qualified parts along with other discrete devices including Zener diodes, Schottky diodes and rectifiers.

The ON Semiconductor MIL-PRF-19500-qualified transistors are competitively priced and production quantities are immediately available through ON Semiconductor’s distribution channels.
