Vishay Intertechnology has announced the release of a new series of tantalum-cased wet tantalum capacitors with glass-to-tantalum hermetic seals. For high-reliability applications, the 136D devices operate over a temperature range of - 55 °C to + 85 °C, to + 200 °C with voltage derating, and provide low ESR down to 0.44 Ω at 120 Hz and + 25 °C.

The 136D capacitors are commercial equivalents of Military-style CLR90 and CLR91 devices, which are designed to meet the performance requirements of Military Specifications MIL-PRF-39006/30 and 39006/31. In addition, the devices released today are equivalent to former Tansitor EQ and ER styles and Kemet T190 and T191 styles.

The wet tantalum capacitors are optimized for timing, filtering, voltage hold-up, and energy storage applications in power supplies and military, avionics, space, and oil exploration equipment.

The devices offer capacitances from 1.7 µF to 2200 µF in C, F, T, and K case codes, and capacitance tolerances of ± 20 % standard at 120 Hz and + 25 °C, with tolerances of ± 10 % and ± 5 % available. The 136D series features standard tin/lead terminations, with RoHS-compliant 100 % tin terminations available, and are offered with standard and extended ratings.

Samples and production quantities of the new 136D wet tantalum capacitors are available now, with lead times of 8 weeks for larger orders.
